Rugby Club Sitges welcomes teams from all over the Rugby World each year to tour our fantastic beach town on the outskirts of Barcelona. We have built up great friendships with clubs and schools from minis to veterans and they have enjoyed their tours so much, that we regularly welcome them back to Barcelona.

As we are only 20 mins from the airport and only 25 mins from the centre of Barcelona, with our clubhouse bar only 1 minute from the beach, it provides the perfect location for any tour.

For junior sides the town provides a very pleasant, friendly and safe environment which is also within one hours travel of the attractions of Warner Bros Port Aventura Theme park , Waterpark and Golf course and also Aqualeon the only Water park and Safari Park in Europe.

If you would prefer to stay in the heart of Barcelona we also have agreements with hotels and hostals who regularly deal with our Rugby groups.

Sitges, la antigua Blanca Subur, es una villa costera que desde hace más de un siglo se ha caracterizado por su actividad turística. Sitges, the ancient White Subur, is a sea-coast town that has been a prestigious tourist resort for over a century now. From the start, Sitges went about establishing a unique model of tourism, committed to offering visitors the oportunity of enjoying a broad range of possibilities during their stay. In addition to the sun and beach tourism at the 17 beaches along our coastline, many of which receive European Foundation for Environmental Education, Sitges has developed other promotional aspects, such as its extensive cultural and festive offering based on three oustanding museums and interesting calendar of exhibitions, its own select Mediterranean gastronomy, and its top-category congress and conventions.

Pintor, narrador, introductor del poema en prosa en Catalunya, dramaturgo, periodista, coleccionista de forja catalana antigua, teorizador del arte total y del sacerdocio del arte y, por encima de todo, abanderado del movimiento modernista durante los años de finales del siglo XIX al XX, Santiago Rusiñol hizo de su vida y de su obra la encarnación del mito del artista moderno, con proyección europea y reconocimiento internacional. en 2006 se cumplen setenta y cinco años de la muerte del artista, y el Ayuntamiento de Sitges conmemora la efeméride con la organización de un proyecto cultural alrededor de la figura del «señor Can Ferrat». Durante un año, del 13 de Junio del 2006 al 13 de Junio del 2007, Sitges revivir simbólicamente el espíritu de las fiestas modernistas y potenciar la imagen de la ciudad que Santiago Rusiñol contribuyo a crear, una imagen inseparable del arte y la cultura, de la civilidad, de la modernidad y del europeísmo, a través de actos diversos y sobre todo, la recuperación y mejora del patrimonio arquitectónico y cultural de la villa y la creación de los «Caus» del siglo XXI uqe sirvan para actualizar el impulso artístico y modernizador que Rusiñol planto en Sitges.

Santiago Rusiñol was a painter, narrator, introducer of the prose poem in Catalonia, playwright, journalist, collector of antique Catalan wrought iron, theoretician of total art and of the sacred nature of the artist’s profession, and above all, standart-bearer of the «Modernista» or Art Nouveau movement at the turn of the 20th century. He enjoyed a European projection and international acknowledgement, and his life and work made him a prototypical modern artist. The year 2006 marks the 75th anniversary of the artist’s death and the Town Council of Sitges is commemorating this event with a wide-ranging cultural project centered around the «Gentelman of Cau Ferrat». For one year (13 June 2006 to 13 June 2007), Sitges will relive symbolically the spirit of the Art Nouveau Festivals and strengthen the image of the town that Santiago Rusiñol Helped to create, an image that is inseparable from art and culture, civility, modernity an Europeanism, throu diverse activities and above all, through the recovery and enhancement of the town’s architectural and cultural heritaga and the creation of 21st-century «Caus» that will help to uptade the modernizing and artistic impulse unleashed by Rusiñol in Sitges.

El Festival Internacional de Cinema de Catalunya llega en 2006 a su 39 edición. Nacido en 1968 como Semana Internacional de Cine Fantástico y de Terror, el Festival ha ido ampliando su temática, aunque su principal razón de ser siga siendo la Sección Oficial de Cine Fantástico, centrada fundamentalmente en la ciencia ficción, la innovación fantástica, el terror y el thriller, aunque en él conviven las producciones comerciales con el más puro cine de autor. El Festival reúne en la Sección «Nuevas Visiones» las propuestas mas innovadoras y trangresoras que abren caminos de experimentación formal y que no tiene cabida en la Oficial de Fantástico. «Orient Express», «Anímate», «Catalàn Focus», «Europa Imaginaria», «Seven Chances» y «Mondo Macabro», son los títulos de las secciones paralelas, que en muchas ocasiones proyectan cine de igual o mejor calidad que las oficiales. La edición 2006 conmemorará los veinte años de la proyección en el Festival de la obra maestra de David Lynch «Terciopelo Azul» con una retrospectiva completa de la filmografía del director estadounidense, uno de los principales responzables de la renovación del concepto cine fantástico.

The year 2006 will mark the 39th holding of the International Film Festival of Catalonia. Born in 1968 as the International Week of Fantasy and Horror Films, the festival has gone about expanding its scope, although one of its major focuses continues to be its Official Section of Fantasy Films, which revolves mainly around science fiction, fantasy innovation, horror and thriller movies, presenting both big-budget commercial productions and author cinema proposals. In its New Visions Section. «Orient Express», «Animate», «Catalan Focus», «Europa Imaginaria», «seven Chances» and «Mondo Macabro» are the names of the Parallel Sections, which often show films of equal or better quality than the Official Sections. In 2006 the festival will commemorate the 20th anniversary of its show-ing of Davis Lynch’s masterprice «Blue Velvet» with a complete retrospective of the filmography of this U.S. director, who has been one of the foremost figures in the renovation of the concept of fantasy cinema.

Declarada de interés nacional por la Generalitat por la riqueza, variedad y originalidad de sus actividades, la Fiesta Mayor de Sitges conmemora la onomástica del patrono de la villa, Sant Bartomeu, celebrada el 24 de Agosto. Los sitgetanos coinciden en que son unos días que conviene vivir al menos una vez en la vida y que todo forasteroque se acerque por la localidad debe hacer un esfuerzopor conocerla en estas fechas señaladas, cuando la ciudad se transforma, sus habitantes y el visitantees acogido entre los lugareños como si fuera un sitgetano más.

Declared a festival of National Interest by the Catalan Government because of its many diverse and original activities, the «Festa Major» or Main Anual Festival of Sitges commemorates the feast of the town’s patron, Saint Bartholomew, on 24th August. The people of Sitges are proud of this festivity and they are convinced that it forms an event that everyone should experience at least once in their life. Sitges undergoes a veritable transformation during its Annual Festival and hospitable than usual, receiving people from outside the town just as if they were old friends and neighbours.
